Cherry
Heartwood varies from rich red to reddish brown while the sapwood is creamy white. It is medium weight, moderately hard, stiff and strong. Some figured, small gum pockets a brown pith flecks are normal markings. It has a grain that is more subtle than some other hardwoods. The fine grained wood has a smooth texture and shiny feel which darkens over time on its own.
