Walnut
Is a tough, fairly light weight hardwood of medium density. The sapwood is white to cream colour and the heartwood is light brown to deep purple brown. Although the grain is usually straight, it sometimes is wavy or curly. It takes a stain or paint very well and develops a richer patina with age.
